Strip Clubs Come in All Shapes and Sizes

Whether you’re in Las Vegas or London, cities big and small have their share of strip clubs. Often segregated in an “entertainment” district of the town or city, this type of venue has been around for decades and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. There are a wide variety of clubs that cater to an even wider variety of tastes and traditions. The type of performance available may depend on the local district or state regulations, but the essence of these types of establishments is the same: to entertain men and women through the removal of clothing and dancing to music.

There are three main types of strip clubs in existence: nude, topless, and bikini. As noted by the naming system, each type of establishment is regulated by the amount of clothes that the male or female performer is allowed to take off. In fully nude clubs, the male and female performers completely expose themselves by the end of their performance. Topless bars are slightly more modest in that the lower body must remain covered, while bikini bars do not show any chest on women or lower body on either sex. Bikini bars are sometimes referred to as “go-go bars” and some clubs that serve food may dress their male and female servers in bikinis.

Further delineation and categorization of strip clubs can be based on the amount of money it costs to get in the door, how luxurious they are, where the dancer performs, and how much interaction is allowed between the dancer and the patron. Often referred to as “gentlemen’s clubs”, high-end luxurious strip clubs cater to men with deep pockets and large bar tabs. They usually offer full-service facilities with luxurious seating and glamorous women. Lower-scale clubs vary in the quality of their dancers and the comfort of their amenities.

Dancers can perform on the stage while many people watch or provide private lap dances for individual patrons. The cost of each type of dance obviously varies and private individual attention usually costs much more because it involves more dancers per patron and requires the use of security guards to keep the dancers safe. Strip clubs with a large stage have a variety of dancers that rotate through a certain order or take turns in a free flow.

As the popularity of strip clubs continues to increase and grow, the variety of entertainment available will cater to the public’s demand while striving to meet local and state regulations. Suffice it to say, wherever you are across the United States or around the world, you can probably find a club in your area that will suit your tastes and budget. Take care to observe the cultural customs and norms of the strip clubs if you are in a foreign country. Rules and regulations regarding dancers and performances may not be the same as you are used to back home.

How can I locate a gentleman’s club not on Bourbon Street? I have heard of a club in Gentilly that is just off I Ten that is good but less expensive?

  2. admin says:

Most of the quality spots are on Bourbon Street. Good luck finding an alternative.
